| Introduction: The Solution-20 is a Universal Accessory System designed to fill the need for additional accessory "blocks" that are always needed in the installation of a radio station or commercial audio system. Although several manufacturers make excellent stand-alone units for these purposes, we saw a need for an integrated, low-cost rack mount system... but with modules that could still be used outside the rack if necessary. What it is: The rack frame holds the cards (up to 10) and contains the power supply as in other rack systems. However, there is no backplane and only +24 volts connects to the front of the card. Attached to each card is a socket into which plugs a connector which installs to your wiring with only a screwdriver. When installed in the rack frame the sockets are accessible from the rear of the unit. If the cards are used stand-alone, the connector simply plugs directly into the socket on the card. Cards can be powered from any clean +24 volt source or from the +24 volts at 2 amps (total) available from theSolution-20 rack frame. |
The Cards: RC-1 Relay Card. Provides 2 SPDT relays for general applications. A closure to ground activates the relay.
